Anita Genovese Bio

Anita’s interests in hand processes, especially in textiles, led her to travel to Venice, Italy, in January 2020, to visit the world renowned Bevilacqua Factory.  The 18th century looms are still in operation today. She was privileged to see these looms in motion by master weavers who began as apprentices and graduated from the Bevilacqua Weaving School.

Anita was born in Washington, D.C., in 1968. Anita received her BFA in Visual/Fine Art from The College of New Jersey, Ewing, NJ in 2020. She attended The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA from 1989-1991, and received an AAS in Communication Design with a specialization in Illustration in 1989 from NOVA, in Alexandria, VA.

Brandon Jones Bio

Brandon Jones is a New Jersey artist working primarily in sculpture creating a variety of environments, and objects based in the idea of fantasy. Jones also studied in the mediums of painting, drawing, and digital media. His recent work consists of islands composed of natural materials with potassium nitrate crystals grown on the surface. Jones used his knowledge of varying mediums in combination with sculpture to create the complexities of Islands. On top of art making Jones also worked as a studio technician in at the College of New Jersey in the sculpture, and printmaking studios.

Colleen Sanders Bio

She works in various mediums, ranging from drawing, painting, photography, book arts, and sculpture. Studying abroad in London, in the summer of 2019, she visited many museums and galleries and created an abstracted photo series of nature in the city. She is currently working with large pieces of Plexiglas and acrylic paint, making large sculptures. Using a wooden popsicle stick cut on an angle, she scratches away a mixture of black tempera paint and dish soap. This process feeds into her mixture of tight perfection and free energy characteristics.

Emma Walby Bio

Artist Emma Walby, works mainly with large installation sculptures. Her materials of choice are found or discarded objects manipulated in experimental ways. Walby’s artworks are centered around societal and environmental issues. Her love of the humanities has inspired her to spend a year volunteering abroad. She is a first generation American and fluent in dutch. Walby plans to live in the Netherlands after receiving her BFA from the College of New Jersey in May, 2020.

Haley Mosseri Bio

Haley Mosseri is a senior fine art major at The College of New Jersey from East Brunswick, New Jersey, graduating in 2020 with her BFA.  She is an abstract painter interested in how her work, conceptually driven by personal experience, connects to the emotions of viewers. Some recent shows include her senior solo exhibition “Persist” at The College of New Jersey and exhibitions at Alfa Art Gallery, Trenton’s Art All Night and the Ellarslie Art Museum.

Jenna Compagnucci Bio

Jenna Compagnucci is a New Jersey based multimedia artist. Compagnucci takes inspiration from psychology, folklore, religion, and the dichotomy between man and nature. She has a background in textiles, clothing design and production, illustration, and hair/makeup artistry. Her most recent works involve sculpture, photography, and illustration. Compagnucci also does a large amount of relief printing that frequents her artist shop.

Mackenzie Mabin Bio

Mackenzie Mabin graduated from Mercer County Community College with an Associates in Fine Arts in 2018. In the same year, she was awarded the Abrams’ Foundations Scholarship. In May of 2020, she will graduate from The College of New Jersey with a Bachelor’s in Fine Art. Mackenzie currently works in sculpture, while focusing on the idea of family.

Maria DeGenova Bio

Maria DeGenova is a fine artist and illustrator based in New Jersey. She uses the human figure and story-based formats to explore themes of spirituality, mythology, and narrative. Works of hers have been accepted into The Comics Grid: Journal of Comics Scholarship and the Journal of Critical Education and Policy Studies. Her recent departure into the field of digital painting and animation has allowed her to explore more storytelling and character creation possibilities during her professional career.

Stephanie Makrancy

Stephanie Makrancy is a multi-media artist based in in New Jersey with a focus on photography. She is inspired by art history, mythology, and lore, and incorporates those themes into her work. Stephanie uses her skills in lighting, makeup, and costuming, to create ethereal characters and spaces in her photographs. She will be graduating from TCNJ with a BFA in Fine Arts.

Zoe Adams Bio

Zoe Adams is a New Jersey/Philly based artist that recycles forgotten objects found in thrift stores with the use of oil paint to apply a new story to them. The addition of pop culture helps put the objects into context with the imagery. Some supplies used in Realms include vinyl records, glass mirrors and skateboard decks. Alongside painting, Zoe also works with photography, illustration & sculpture.
