On the Moon We Had Gold Spoons comprises two painting series: Martia, my love, don't forget me and A cow in the backyard. Both sets of illustrative paintings explore the patterns that span from my youth into the present. Martia, my love, don't forget me is a dramatic snapshot from space, a diptych completed with strict horizontal mark-making. A cow in the backyard condenses the view from my childhood bedroom window into a surrealist triptych, finished with wax crayons atop acrylic paint.
